Series edited by Jacqueline Kari.
Chatterboxes, or as they’re known on the playground, cootie catchers, are origami fortune tellers. Prognosticating papers. These salt cellars and their answers lie cloaked by sheer flaps: the chatterbox presents, always, four possibilities, waiting for us to spell out our next choice.
We became interested in harnessing this soothsaying potential for poetry, and asked six of our favorite poets to create pieces tailored to this haptic medium.
The set also comes with instructions, for those of you whose fingers don’t remember.
